Xie Jingrong Researches Poverty Alleviation Program in Anhui

Release time: 2017-07-31

ACFIC Vice Chairman Xie Jingrong said Anhui leads the country in the scope of corporate participation in the 10,000 Enterprises Assist 10,000 Villages Program, guiding assistance resources to gravitate to the neediest areas, and pushing provincial government to supply policy support to participating enterprises, during his research on the quality and efficiency of Program implementation in the central China Province from July 26 to 28.

He said entrepreneurs participating in the Program in Anhui have focused on registered poor population, taken measures in accordance with the specific conditions of villages and villagers, innovated their poverty alleviation methods and achieved sound results.

He urged Anhui's Program leading group to redouble their efforts, set good examples and lead the way for other regions.

During his three-day research, Xie’s team inspected six targeted poverty alleviation projects, including an ecological farm, a lotus seeds farm, a travel agency, an agricultural technology industrial park, a hot peppers farm, a rice paddy shrimp farm in Jing County of Xuancheng City and Changfeng County of Hefei City; it heard reports from eight enterprises about their project-participating experiences, difficulties and suggestions at a seminar in Changfeng County. Before the inspection, the team also met with Anhui’s CPC and government leaders.

Xie noted that 10,000 Enterprises Assist 10,000 Villages Program is a win-win and mutually beneficial program through which, on the one hand, participating enterprises can boost their profit and development, build a sound social image and receive in-depth education on national conditions, and on the other, poor household can boost their income, rise over poverty, and learn from entrepreneurs first hand about their hard-working ethics, fighting spirit and innovative characters.

By July 10, 2017, 34,3000 private enterprises have been registered with the Program database, and 5.387 million poor population in 35,700 villages have received assistance nationwide.
